About us
The directors of Larrington & Co formed this company as they believed there was an opportunity to offer a truly customer focused service in an industry that has increasingly moved away from personal contact and experienced lawyers conducting legal work.
The team has many years of experience working with clients not only based in Peterborough, but throughout England and Wales. Although Larrington & Co will utilise new technologies, and adapt to the ever-changing property market, we feel strongly that personal contact with clients must never be removed and so we welcome personal attendance, video calls, and open communication with our clients.
Meet the Team
Alex Larrington - Managing Director
I took my first conveyancing job in 2006 as fresh-faced graduate, and the role was that of “Trainee Fee Earner”. Over the ensuing years I have held a variety of different roles, spending 6 years as an Operations Director, and 2 years as a Legal Director, before deciding that I would like to start my own firm, and focus on the aspects of conveyancing I think are the most important, communication and delivering a high quality legal service. Now, many years after entering the industry, and certainly no longer fresh-faced, I have had the opportunity to do so.
Away from work I enjoy a round of golf (albeit it I am not very good!), and I am an avid football fan. Aside from sport, I am a keen walker and I enjoy a pub quiz every now and then.
I was very lucky to have been given some excellent training and mentoring when I entered the conveyancing profession nearly two decades ago, and I am hoping that our firm can pass on some of this knowledge to our employees in an increasingly tough industry.
Alicia Larrington - Head of Legal Practice and Solicitor
I qualified as a Solicitor in 2018 after working in the Conveyancing industry since 2011. With over 10 years of experience dealing with many residential property transactions, I have also gained a longstanding relationship with many of the Estate Agents and Mortgage Brokers. I have also worked in nearly every department within a conveyancing firm, from reception to accounts, to a property lawyer then a team manager.
My favourite part of the job is of course getting the clients to an exchange of contracts and my least favourite is certifying the many pages in a Lasting Powers of Attorney, as I can barely write my name anymore at the end!
I enjoy spending my weekends running around after my toddler and relaxing by watching True Crime Documentaries (and am always looking for new recommendations).
Alex Shaw - Operations Director
After initially working as an Estate Agent, I made the move to conveyancing in 2018 when I took a role as a trainee Property Lawyer, working for a regional firm. After 4 years working in “front line” conveyancing, I become a Legal Operations Manager and spent the next two years focusing on improving the systems and processes that are required to deliver a high-quality conveyancing service.
Outside of work I am an avid Formula 1 fan and dog lover.
I have lived and worked in the Peterborough area for most of my life, and I am delighted that I now have the opportunity to build a business, close to home, that I can be proud of.
Jake Francis - Licensed Conveyancer
I have been managing residential property transactions since entering the conveyancing trade in 2017 as a graduate. I very much enjoy ensuring that I deliver the highest level of support for my clients to complete their transactions. I am a Licensed Conveyancer and as a director of the company I am proud to be working with my colleagues to deliver a high standard of work for our clients and business partners.
I am not originally from Peterborough, having been raised in Kent I moved to the area after graduating from university to live with my now wife. Although I miss Kent, I do love living in Peterborough and I have lived in Ortons for many years. I live close to Ferry Meadows country park where my wife and I enjoy long walks and the occasional Park Run.
I am a keen gardener and enjoy relaxing Sundays pottering in my greenhouse. I also enjoy cycling around Peterborough's green wheel if the weather is nice, if it's not, I am happy to take shelter in a nice country pub.
